About

M.A. English offered by the Centre for Language Learning under the aegis of SOM & L.S., NCU is a two-year postgraduate degree program. This program aims to improve one’s communication, written, and critical thinking skills, which are extremely useful both from a professional and personal perspective. M.A. in English imparts education associated with Literary Theory and Criticism, Linguistics, Movements in Literature, Semiotics, and different British literature genres. This expertise will help students broaden their understanding of literary theory, genre, and literary history, introducing them to a wide range of the latest approaches to academic study. In addition, the M.A. English course offers the perfect opportunity to integrate literature study with the ambition to write. Promising job roles after studying this course include- Editor, Writer, Speaker, Narrator, and Professor.

Bachelor’s Degree (English Medium) with overall aggregate 50% and Must appear in CAT/CMAT/MAT/XAT/GMAT/NMAT/ Any other Eligibility Test

OTHER FEE
  • Caution Money: A sum of Rs 10,000/- to be charged from each student seeking admission to the University in the Academic Year 2023-24. The amount is interest free and will be refunded to the students at the time of withdrawal or at end of their programmes, whichever is earlier, after deduction of dues, if any.
  • Alumni Association Fee: A onetime Alumni Association fee of Rs. 1,000/- for all programmes is payable by all students.
  • Industry Employability Aptitude Test Fees: Industry Employability Aptitude Test fees of Rs. 1,500/- is payable.

Hostel Fee (where applicable) Rs. 75,000/- per semester

Other Scholarship
  • 20% scholarship on the tuition fees to the university employees’ ward/wards in the First Year Only
  • 15% scholarship of the tuition fees for the university Alumni ward/wards, in the First Year Only
