Cybersecurity ventures are projected to grow by 15% annually over the next five years, reaching $10.5 trillion by 2025. McKinsey & Company anticipates that 85% of small and midsize businesses will increase their cybersecurity investments due to the exponential rise in ransomware and social-engineered attacks. The increase is not only in the number of cyberattacks but also in their severity. A PwC report states that these attacks are “becoming progressively destructive and targeting a broadening array of information and attack vectors.” Both the private and public sectors are increasingly dependent on cybersecurity and forensics professionals to safeguard personal and professional data. Cybersecurity and digital forensics are two essential aspects of the same field: cybersecurity focuses on implementing robust defenses against cyberattacks, while digital forensics identifies the source of attacks and works to recover lost data. The growing prevalence of cybercrime targeting businesses, government infrastructure, and individuals underscores the need for these skills. According to a Global Information Security Workforce Study, there will be a global shortage of around 1.8 million cybersecurity professionals. In response, The NorthCap University aims to equip students with the necessary skills to combat the rising tide of cybercrime. Cyber Security and Forensics specialization offers a comprehensive curriculum that blends practical skills with theoretical knowledge, enhancing the value of a graduate degree in terms of career advancement, higher income, and increased job security.
