COVID19 Global Forecasting Competition

Kaggle has launched one of the two complementary forecasting tasks to predict COVID-19 spread. The White House Office of Science and Technology Policy (OSTP) pulled together a coalition research groups and companies (including Kaggle) to prepare the COVID-19 Open Research Dataset (CORD-19) to attempt to address key open scientific questions on COVID-19. Those questions are drawn from National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine’s (NASEM) and the World Health Organization (WHO).

Each week the fatalities, death rate numbers provided are different for forecasting. The challenge involves forecasting confirmed cases and fatalities between March 25 to May 14.

The 5 faculty members from CSE Department (Data Science Specialization) who participated in this competition are – Dr Rita Chhikara, Dr Meghna Sharma, Ms Srishti, Ms Poonam Chaudhary, MsShakshi Sharma.

The competition has been divided into 4 weeks.
