Student Grievance Redressal Cell

A robust Grievance Redressal System is fundamental to any educational institution. At The NorthCap University, the administration is committed to providing a safe, fair, and supportive environment for all students and staff. In line with this commitment, the Grievance Redressal Committee (GRC) has been constituted as per the UGC (Grievance Redressal) Regulations, 2023, to address complaints and issues with due diligence, confidentiality, and integrity.

The Committee functions under the direct supervision of the Vice Chancellor, ensuring timely and unbiased resolution of concerns that may affect the well-being and academic or professional life of students and staff.

Grievance Submission

Any stakeholder who wishes to file a grievance can contact the chairperson of Student Grievance Redressal Cell (SGRC)

All complaints are handled with utmost confidentiality and sensitivity. Depending on the nature and seriousness of the grievance, the matter may be escalated to relevant committee members or referred to the University Ombudsperson.

Functions of the Grievance Redressal Committee

  • To accept written grievances from students and staff regarding academic, administrative, infrastructural, or personal matters affecting their experience on campus.
  • To establish a mechanism for timely review, investigation, and redressal of the reported grievances.
  • To listen, scrutinize, and document the concerns raised, ensuring proper follow-up and resolution based on merit and authenticity.
  • To refer specific cases to the University Management or respective functional units (e.g., academic, transport, maintenance) where needed.
  • To convene periodic meetings to review the status of received grievances and track their resolution.
  • To maintain a record of all grievances, actions taken, and decisions made.
  • To ensure continuous follow-up until the grievance is resolved to a satisfactory conclusion.
  • To promote a harmonious and conducive campus environment through fair redressal practices.
  • To maintain strict confidentiality, wherever necessary, to protect the identity and privacy of the complainant.

Emeritus Professor S S Yadav is the Ombudsman in the Student Grievance Redressal Committee for any appeals made by the students, in case the student is aggrieved by the decision of the Student Grievance Redressal Committee.
