The University Grants Commission (UGC), Government of India, has emphasized the upliftment of underprivileged students, faculty, and staff by directing all universities to establish SC/ST Cells. In response, the SC/ST Cell at The NorthCap University has been set up to support the well-being of SC/ST students, teaching, and non-teaching staff. This committee addresses complaints related to discrimination received from SC/ST/OBC members of the university community. Additionally, the Cell is responsible for ensuring adherence to the guidelines periodically issued by the UGC to promote equity and inclusiveness within the campus environment.
To become a leading institution in higher education that consistently adapts to evolving societal needs by generating and applying knowledge aimed at building a people-focused and environmentally sustainable society. Support, mentor, and empower students, staff, and faculty from underprivileged and disadvantaged sections of society, aiming to nurture responsible and compassionate individuals who contribute to happiness, harmony, and prosperity within the community.
To ensure the smooth and effective execution of policies and programs aimed at supporting disadvantaged groups, the Cell provides academic, financial, social, and personal guidance and counselling. It also works to promote campus diversity. Its core objectives include:
