The Student Branch Chapter of the IEEE Computer Society, The NorthCap University organized the maiden edition of Synergy on Monday, 2 March 2020. The guiding idea of Synergy was for the attendees to experience excellent networking opportunities and gain insights about how the Guests of Honour dealt with a multitude of situations at different stages of their life. The event saw the following six eminent personalities from diverse backgrounds talk about their life experiences:
1. Mr. Shivam Abhilash: Business Technology Analyst (Technical Track):
He is the Chairperson of Student and Young Professionals for the Asia Pacific Region and the Co-Chairperson of Awards and Recognition Committee MGAB.
He currently serves as a Business Technology Analyst at ZS Associates and is working in the big data team.
2. Ms. Yashika Luthra: Business Executive (Entrepreneurship Track):
She currently serves as the Senior Manager Brand Alliances at ATechnos. She previously served as the Business Director at Street Style Stalk and Brand Consultant and Strategist at BuzzLikeUs.
With six years of experience in Marketing, Business, Branding, Ms. Yashika has worked with many political bodies of India.
3. Mr. Navin Gulia: Ex-Army Officer, Motivational Speaker, and the Founder Director & President of ADAA Charitable Trust (Motivational Track):
Mr. Navin Gulia is the recipient of numerous prestigious awards including the Paramaveer Chakra, National Role Model Award, Global Indian of the Year, KavinCare Ability Mastery Award, and The Limca Book of records.
His incredible experiences have been chronicled in his books ‘In Quest Of the Last Victory’, ‘Veer Usko Janiye’, and ‘Gandhi Banam Bhagat’.
4. Mr. John Benedict Boggala: Manager for Device and Digital TS at Amazon (Managerial Track):
He has been associated with IEEE for the past nine years and serves as the Associate Editor for IEEE Potentials, Social Media Coordinator for YP, HTA, EA and Region 10, and the Young Professionals Representative for IEEE Power & Energy Society Region 10.
He is also the South Asia Young Professionals Coordinator for IEEE Asia- Pacific Region, and the Vice-Chairperson and Head of Data Management at IEEE Xtreme.
5. Ms. Simran Khosla: Founder & CEO of Butt Like An Apricot (Business Track):
Her organization, an online Fitness Coaching, and Diet Consultancy platform, vows to transform India into a healthier country by breaking the myths of what people perceive health and fitness to be and making them more aware of the benefits of leading a healthy lifestyle.
Her unique approach to health and fitness has made her a renowned name in the industry. With over 2000 clients in over 33 countries, she continues to introduce people to the concept of holistic living, nutrition, and healthcare.
6. Ms. Sana Shrivastava: Founder of MyStory Trust (Social Track):
MYSTORY is run by a team of young individuals who strive to work towards the betterment of society.
Ms. Sana has appeared in numerous TV Commercials and Series and is an acclaimed name in the industry.
She has played an indispensable role in organizing and conducting several sessions, events, and workshops that hold social importance in various schools, colleges, and other organizations.
The event started off with registration of the attendees. The sessions started off around 9:45 am, with all the eminent personalities discussing several interesting, memorable and impactful experiences from their lives. They touched upon their field of expertise and how numerous factors go into establishing an NGO or a brand or working for a reputed organization like IEEE and Amazon. Several fun activities were also conducted by the speakers to engross the attendees. The event ended on a felicitous note with exceptional response from all the attendees and the spokespersons. The event was organized by the Student Branch Chair of IEEE, The NorthCap University, Mr. Virendra Pratap Singh Rathore along with a dedicated team of IEEE volunteers. It was coordinated by faculty coordinators Ms. Srishti, Ms. Poonam Chaudhary, Ms. Vaishali Kalra, Dr. Pankaj Rakheja and Mr. Prateek Malik under the guidance of Head, Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Dr. Kavita Khanna.
