One Day Meditation Awareness Programme

ONE DAY MEDITATION AWARENESS PROGRAMME IN COLLABORATION WITH THE DELHI HIGH COURT MEDIATION AND CONCILIATION CENTRE— ‘SAMADHAN’

School of Law the NorthCap University organized a ‘One Day Meditation Awareness Programme’ in collaboration with the Delhi High Court Mediation and Conciliation Centre known as ‘Samadhan’ on
29 th April 2022. With a commitment to speedy and effective dispute resolution, the aim of the programme was to have the expert trainers of ‘Samadhan’ share with our students, the philosophy of mediation, the legal framework for mediation in India as well as techniques for resolution. The esteemed resource persons for the event were Mr. J.P.Sengh, Senior Advocate, Ms. Veena Ralli, Advocate and, Ms. Swati Setia, Advocate. The programme was divided in three sessions. The first
session introduced the basic idea of mediation with Mr. J.P. Sengh’s wit and wisdom on Birbal’s approach to Mediation. This was followed by a discussion on what is conflict. The second session saw
building momentum as Ms. Veena Ralli introduced five styles of conflict management to the students. Post learning the best techniques, the third session gave the students to test the knowledge gained during the day. Five students were picked from the audience randomly and were invited on stage for arole play on a conflict to be solved by mediation. One student was made the mediator and the remaining four played the role of the two parties in conflict. What followed was intense debate and
brainstorming by our students which was a true reflection of the fruitfulness of the exercise. Dr. Tavleen Kaur Khurana, Assistant Professor (Sr. Scale) and Arushi Anthwal, Assistant Professor were the organizers of the event.
