On 20th April 2023, an awareness drive on road safety was organized by The NorthCap University’s NRSC, NEEV, and SAL teams, along with co-hosts from the Charan Sparsh Foundation. The event was held in the Seminar Hall of the university and aimed to educate students on the importance of road safety and the measures they can take to prevent accidents.

The event commenced with an address from the Vice Chancellor of NCU, Prof. (Dr.) Nupur Prakash, emphasizing the significance of road safety and urges students to take it seriously. This was followed by speeches from Sh. Ravinder Yadav -HCS, Sub-Divisional Magistrate, Gurugram, Sh. Akhil Kumar -HCS, ACP Traffic, Gurugram, Sh. Rachit Sharma, General Manager, Ceat Tyres Ltd., and Ms. Maya Thakur, Founder- of Charan Sparsh Foundation and Director- Institute of Civil Engineers (I), spoke about different aspects of road safety.

The event also included a quiz competition, which saw enthusiastic participation from the students. Winners of the quiz were awarded helmets as a token of appreciation. The quiz not only engaged the students but also tested their knowledge of road safety.

Overall, the event was a resounding success as it sensitized students about the importance of road safety and encouraged them to follow traffic rules. The participation of the esteemed speakers and co-hosts made the event informative and engaging. The quiz competition added a fun element to the event and helped reinforce the message of road safety.

The event ended with a Vote of Thanks by Prof. T.R. Piplani, Executive Director – Global Engagement, The Institution of Civil Engineers (India), with special thanks to Dr. Shrutimita Mehta and Mr. Lokesh Choudhary for coordinating the event.

In conclusion, the road safety awareness drive organized by NCU’s NRSC, NEEV, and SAL teams, along with co-hosts from the Charan Sparsh Foundation, was an excellent initiative to educate students about the importance of road safety. The participation of various dignitaries and the quiz competition made the event both informative and engaging. The event was a great success in promoting awareness of road safety and encouraging students to follow traffic rules to prevent accidents.
