Mr. Sumit Kumar is an Assistant Professor (Senior Scale) in the Department of Computer Science & Engineering at The NorthCap University, Gurugram. With more than seven years of experience in teaching, research, and academic administration, he is committed to experiential and project-based learning that connects classroom concepts with practical problem-solving. He is currently pursuing his Ph.D. at The NorthCap University in the area of malware analysis for IoT systems and application security. He holds an M.Tech and a B.Tech in Computer Science & Engineering, along with a Post Graduate Diploma in Full Stack Software Development from IIIT Bangalore. Before joining NCU, he was associated with an EdTech organization in Bengaluru as a faculty member.

His teaching and research interests include AI-driven software development, full-stack development, programming, data structures and algorithms, malware analysis, cybersecurity, machine learning, deep learning, digital forensics, and application security. He is an AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner, Microsoft Certified in Azure AI Fundamentals (AI-900), an IBM Full Stack Software Developer Professional, and an Oracle Certified Professional Java Programmer. He has also mentored multiple M.Tech and B.Tech projects across full-stack development, cybersecurity, and artificial intelligence.

Mr. Kumar’s scholarly contributions include publications across ESCI/WoS and Scopus-indexed journals, international conferences, and book chapters. He has three granted patents in Germany and two published patents in India. He also completed a consultancy project valued at ₹1.2 lakh with Xansr Media, focused on application development for the financial and OTT sectors.
