Dr. Yogita Gigras is an Associate Professor in the Department of Computer Science & Engineering at The NorthCap University, Gurugram, with over 17 years of teaching, research, and academic leadership experience. She obtained her Ph.D. in Computer Science from Banasthali Vidyapith, Rajasthan, with research on Application of Soft Computing Techniques in Robotic Domain. Her research interests span Cybersecurity, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Internet of Things (IoT), Robotics, Data Science, Computer Networks, and Intelligent Systems.

Dr. Gigras has made significant contributions to research with 51+ publications, including SCIE, ESCI, Scopus-indexed journals, book chapters, and international conference papers. She has 7 granted patents, 4 published patents, 2 Ph.D. scholars awarded, 3 Ph.D. scholars currently under supervision, and has guided numerous M.Tech dissertations and B.Tech major projects. Her scholarly impact is reflected by 761+ Google Scholar citations (h-index: 15, i10-index: 26) and 250+ Scopus citations (h-index: 9).

She is the editor of the books Internet of Healthcare Things: Machine Learning for Security and Privacy (Wiley-Scrivener, ISBN: 9781119791768, Scopus Indexed, 2022) and Digitization and Automation for the 21st Century: Data Analytics for IoT Applications (Bentham Science Publishers, 2025).

Dr. Gigras has earned several prestigious professional certifications, including Microsoft Security, Compliance, and Identity Fundamentals (SC-900), Microsoft Azure AI Fundamentals (AI-900), AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner, AWS Cloud Foundations, and Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH). She has also completed advanced faculty development programmes at C-DAC Bengaluru, IIT Kanpur, IIT Roorkee, NIT Jalandhar, and other premier institutions, strengthening her expertise in High-Performance Computing, Quantum AI, Cybersecurity, Machine Learning, and IoT.

• 1st Prize – Best B.Tech Project Award 2024 for Automatic Mineralogy Detection using Chandrayaan-1 & 2 Data.
• 1st Prize – Hackउत्सव 1.0 (2024) and 2nd Prize – Best B.Tech Project Award 2025 for EduBot, which also received the Microsoft for Startups Founders Hub Award (USD 1000 credits) and resulted in an Elsevier book chapter.
• 2nd Prize – Best B.Tech Project Award 2022 for Gesture-Controlled Robotic Arm.
• 2nd Position – MasterX Hackathon 2026 (Masters’ Union) for CollegeChale, an AI-powered campus mobility platform.

At the university, Dr. Gigras serves as the University Tinkering Lab Coordinator, M.Tech Programme Lead, and has previously coordinated Technovation, Major Projects, and several innovation initiatives. She has successfully organized the IEEE International Conference on Intelligent Systems for Cybersecurity (ISCS 2024), National Technology Day & IEI All India Seminar 2026, IEI Third Regional Conclave, Faculty Development Programmes, Smart India Hackathons, Tinkering Lab internships, and numerous innovation challenges.

Dr. Gigras is an active member of IEEE, ACM, and the Institution of Engineers (India).
