Dr. Vandana Khanna is a seasoned academician with over 22 years of experience in industry, teaching, and research. She began her career in the VLSI industry, working with Motorola India Pvt. Ltd and Freescale Semiconductor Ltd., contributing to wireless projects and earning three Bravo Awards for excellence. Since joining The NorthCap University in 2009, she has significantly contributed to its academic and research ecosystem. She currently serves as Associate Professor in MDE department and Dy Dean (PhD Program). In her leadership role, she is actively involved in mentoring research scholars, strengthening the doctoral program, improving academic quality, and promoting a vibrant research ecosystem across departments.

Dr. Khanna has supervised 3 PhD theses, 15 M.Tech dissertations, and numerous B.Tech projects; currently, 5 PhD scholars are working under her guidance. She has over 50 publications, including SCI/Scopus-indexed papers, conference papers, and book chapters, and holds several patents, with a German patent granted in 2024. She also completed an international project on Smart Waste Management, funded by the Cintana Research Committee. Her interests include VLSI Design, IoT, Soft Computing, and Photovoltaic Modeling, and she has led curriculum and lab development for the VLSI specialization.

Dr. Khanna established and leads the Tinkering Lab at NCU, driving innovation through VC-funded projects like lab automation, a Medicine Pill Organizer, and the eSaviour AI drone. Her student teams have won top prizes for projects like EduBot, Carbon Emissions Calculator, 1×3 Router, and AgroBot, and have excelled in events like GRIDTECH, HackUtsav, and IEI-led conclaves. Dr. Khanna has initiated several impactful programs, including industry-academia collaborations, internship programs, FDPs, and technical conclaves. She also founded the Institution of Engineers India (IEI) Students’ Chapter and the Chetna Club, a student-driven social initiative. Her contributions have earned her several awards, including the Academia Excellence Award 2024–25 and Recognition Award 2023 by IEI, Best Teacher Award, Best Research Paper Award, and Star Performer Award by NCU. She also holds Elite+Silver NPTEL certifications and has completed multiple VLSI and programming certifications.
