Vision:

To be a leading hub for innovative research and education at the intersection of law and technology, shaping ethical, adaptive, and future-ready legal frameworks for the digital age.

Mission:

  • To encourage and support research that intersects law, technology, and public policy, fostering collaboration between legal scholars, technologists, and professionals from other disciplines.
  • To design and integrate specialized courses, seminars, and workshops that equip law students with knowledge and skills in technology and law
  • To contribute to national and international legal and regulatory frameworks by producing policy papers, participating in consultations, and advising government and private sector bodies on technology-related legal issues.
  • To organize conferences, lectures, panel discussions, and public forums that address pressing legal challenges posed by emerging technologies
  • To examine the societal impact of technology and advocate for ethical standards and legal protection
  • To establish partnerships with academic institutions, industry leaders, and civil society organizations for joint initiatives, resource sharing, and innovation in legal research and practice.

About the Centre:

Centre for Law and Technology at the School of Law is dedicated to fostering an environment that encourages interdisciplinary research at the intersection of law and technology. With rapid advancements in digital technology, cyberspace, privacy regulations, artificial intelligence, and related domains, the Centre aims to critically evaluate existing legal frameworks and approaches, examining their relationship with emerging technologies and exploring how law can effectively adapt to the evolving digital landscape.
