About Rotaract NCU Club

Rotaract, the youth wing of Rotary International, is a service club for young men and women ages between 18 and 30 who are dedicated to community and international service. Its membership totals over 184,000 in more than 8,000 clubs worldwide. Rotaract clubs are self-governing and self-supporting and can be either university- or community-based. Individual Rotary clubs sponsor Rotaract clubs and offer guidance and support, making the Rotaract clubs true “partners in service” and key members of the family of Rotary. Rotaract provides opportunity for young persons in developing their professional and leadership skills, addressing the needs and concerns of the society through continuous engagements as well as specific programs.

Charter Installation Ceremony of Rotaract Club of the NCU on Aug. 24, 2017

With the help of the Rotary Club, Gurgaon, a university-based Rotaract Club was constituted on February 13, 2017. The Charter installation ceremony of the Club was formally organized at the NCU Auditorium on August 24, 2017. Presently, Rotaract NCU Club boasts of over 100 Rotaractors from all three schools of the university. There is a Board of 10 students with Ms. Shreya Gupta, President Rotaractor and Ms. Tashi Vaish, Secretary Rotaractor at the helm of the affairs. Mr. Subhradipta Sarkar, Assistant Professor (Sr. Scale), School of Law, NCU, is the Faculty Advisor for the club. From the students’ perspective, such an initiative enhances their social outreach and makes an impact in the society. Besides, emphasizing on the respect for the rights of others, such an association also helps them in enhancing their knowledge and skills which would be helpful in personal development, addressing the physical and social needs of their communities, and promoting better relations between all people worldwide through a framework of friendship and service.

ABOUT MOOTING The faculty at the School of Law grooms the knowledge, skills and values of all the students to make them not only a competent legal professionals but also complete human beings. Apart from a team of competent and dedicated law teachers, a host of other legal professionals like judges, eminent lawyers, in-house general counsels, activists, bureaucrats and leaders of the bar and the bench, regularly groom our students on lawyering and critical legal thinking skills. MOOT COURT COMMITTEE, NCU LAW SCHOOL The Moot Court Committee at the NCU Law School, Gurgaon encompasses the spirit for mooting that NCU recognizes as its own. Apart from maintaining a strong internal mooting structure, the Committee has been entrusted with the responsibility of hosting annually, the NCU Law School National Moot Court Competition. To this extent, the Committee is proud to find itself entrusted with the organization of a very prestigious and well respected moot court competition on Environmental Laws. The Committee also makes efforts to inculcate the fresher batch with the techniques of mooting and therefore conducts regular sessions on court manners and arranges for the Intra-Moot Competitions. Given the extraordinary amounts of preparatory work involved in the organisation of the various events, the Committee is an ever bustling center of activity, and is without wonder, a coveted committee to be in.
