2. To train the students in the areas of Electrical and Power Systems, Electrical Machines, Control Systems, Power Electronics, Power generation, Renewable Energy Sources, latest technologies and software tools necessary for Electrical Engineering practice.

3. PO-I: Ability to understand and apply knowledge of basic sciences which is ensured by including right percentage of subjects of mathematics, science and basic engineering.

PO-II: Skills to identify, formulate, design and develop solutions for complex engineering problems through the in depth knowledge of core Electrical Engineering subjects such as electrical machines, power electronics, power systems and control systems along with the thorough knowledge of programme specific electives and modern technologies.

PO-III: Practical proficiency in almost all the courses offered as part of their Electrical Engineering program through good hands-on experience and habit to perform experiments and interpret data. Good exposure is given to students for latest simulation tools, software and Systems.

PO-IV: Proficiency in multidisciplinary domains for devising the solution of a real time problem. The right mix of theoretical and practical concepts learnt in different branches of engineering develops the ability to work successfully on multidisciplinary tasks.

The NorthCap University Testing Centre (NCUTC) in the Department of Civil & Environmental Engineering provides facilities and equipment for the mechanical testing of building and construction materials which is accredited by NABL. NCUTC provides professional services to outside organizations and agencies involved in real estate business and the construction industry.

MTech Part Time

Working professionals can pursue M.Tech. degree programme part time. However, the part time degree will be awarded on satisfactory completion of 6 semesters taken over 3 years. Classes for part time students may be held in the morning / evening and / or on weekends as may be specified by the department / time-table. In case adequate students are not available in a discipline(s) a higher number can be filled in the programme / specialization which have a greater demand.

Note

GATE score is not mandatory, but candidates with valid GATE will get due weightage in selection.

For MTech minimum number is 10 in each courses.

(Minimum 60% aggregate or 6.0 CGPA in 10th and Minimum 60% aggregate in 12th is compulsory.)

For balance 70% seats , the selection criteria shall be based on merit as follows : 85% weightage will be given to marks in the qualifying examination at the UG level, and 15% weightage to the personal interview. Any unfilled seats from GATE applicants shall also be treated as unreserved
