Computer Science has become a fascinating field and focuses on the theoretical foundation of computing along with state-of-the-art development of computing solutions. It is a combination of programming, hardware administration, software administration, networking and network security. It is a wide field and includes algorithms, distributed computation, parallel computation architecture, machine learning, cryptography, compiler construction, microprocessors, embedded systems, computer architecture and organization, computer graphics, database management systems, digital image processing and operating systems. The objective of the BTech program in Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) is to prepare students to undertake careers involving innovation and problem solving using computational techniques and technologies, or to undertake advanced studies for research careers or to take up Entrepreneurship.

In order to give due importance to applied as well as theoretical aspects of computing, the curriculum for the BTech (CSE) program covers most of the foundational aspects of computing sciences, and also develops in students the engineering skills for problem solving using computing sciences. The curriculum has been designed in a manner that it covers the foundational courses and also gives student an option to explore specialized courses in Data Science, Cyber Security, Internet of Things, Advanced Programming etc.

As a Computer Science student, you will learn how to design, develop and test algorithms, how to design, develop and test software, how to develop effective solutions to computing problems across domains.

  • Ability to adapt established models, techniques, algorithms, data structures, etc. for efficiently solving new problems.
  • Understanding of computing at different levels of abstraction including circuits and computer architecture, operating systems, algorithms and applications.
