Prof J K Gera

Following his premature retirement from the I.A.F. after 24 years of meritorious service, Mr. J. K. Gera was appointed in the Department of Mech. Engg. at The NorthCap University on 28th April 1997. During his tenure with the Indian Air Force, Mr. J. K. Gera served as Deputy Director at Air Headquarters, responsible for maintenance of Russian Aircraft Support Vehicles and Equipment. His other senior appointments included, Officer-in-Charge, responsible for overhaul of aero engines and components at the Base Repair Depot. He has also undertaken research work at I.I.T., New Delhi on reliability and maintainability analysis of aircraft systems and components based on Reliability Centered Maintenance concept. Besides being a member of the Aeronautical Society of India, Society of Automotive engineers. Mr. J. K. Gera is a Fellow of the Institute of Engineers. He teaches Automobile Engineering, I.C. Engines, Power Plant Engineering, Maintenance Engineering, Emerging Automotive Technologies, Machine Drawing and Industrial Engineering. He is responsible for setting up, modernization and maintenance of labs in the department.

Mr Roshan Raman

Roshan Raman did his B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering from UPTU with 70 % . He did his M.E in Thermal Engineering from IET DAVV Indore in 2015 with CGPA of 9. He joined PhD in Mechanical Engineering at CASRAE (Delhi Technological University) Delhi in 2016 and has completed comprehensive (SRC phase) in June 2017. He has worked as an Asst. Professor in reputed Institute like GL Bajaj Inst. of Tech & Mgmt., NIET & SITM for 5 years.He has qualified 4 Times GATE from 2012-2016. He has 4 publications in international peer-reviewed Journals including one paper in Taylor and Francis (International Journal of Ambient Energy). He is working as an Assistant Professor in Department of Mechanical engineering, NCU since July 2017. His area of interest are Thermal Engineering, IC Engines, HMT, RAC & Renewable Energy.

Mr Praveen Singh

Mr Praveen Singh is working as an assistant professor in the department of Mechanical Engineering, The NorthCap University. He has obtained his M.Tech from Malaviya National Institute of Technology, Jaipur in Metallurgical & Materials Engineering specialization. He obtained his B.Tech degree in Mechanical Engineering and scored 98.74 percentile in Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE). He was the batch topper during his Master of Technology. His interest lies in the areas of Manufacturing Technology, Material Science & Composite Materials.

Mr Jag Parvesh Dahiya

Mr Jag Parvesh Dahiya is working as an Assistant Professor in Department of Mechanical Engineering. He obtained his Masters degree in Metallurgical Engineering (Corrosion) from Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee. Prior to joining the The NorthCap University, he served as an Assistant Professor in Silver Oak college of Engineering & Technology, Ahmedabadfor a period of 2 years where he was involved in teaching various UG courses of mechanical engineering viz. Refrigeration and Air conditioning, Fluid mechanics, Fluid Power Engineering & Heat Transfer. Currently, he is engaged in the research on behavior of weldments under corrosive environment at elevated temperatures.

Mr Satnam Singh

Mr Satnam Singh is working as Assistant Professor in Department of Mechanical Engineering of The Northcap University. He joined the University in July – 2016. Before joining the Northcap University, he was pursing regular PhD from Thapar University, Patiala. He has five years of experience in teaching and industry. He has worked as Assistant Professor for one year in Ambala College of Engineering and Applied Research (Ambala) and worked as Lecturer in Maharishi Markandeshwar University, Mullana, Ambala for three years. His fields of research includes microwave materials processing, development of composites (MMC’s, PMC’s and CMC’s). Mr. Singh has eight SCI papers in various reputed international journals. He has published three research papers in Scopus indexed journals and three papers in peer reviewed journals. Recently he has presented one paper in international conference held at Padova, Italy (HES16), which was sponsored by DST under International Travel Scheme. He has applied for one patent in the field of metal-ceramic composite castings through microwaves.

Mr Abhishek Pratap Singh

Mr Abhishek Pratap Singh is working as Assistant Professor in Department of Mechanical Engineering. He joined the University in July – 2008. Before joining The NorthCap University, he had also worked as lecturer for almost two years in colleges affiliated to MD University Rohtak. His fields of teaching and research are Theory of Machines, Robotics, Mechatronics, Automobile Engineering, Environmental Management, and Applications of computational fluid dynamics. Besides teaching at various levels of UG & PG curriculums, Abhishek has also held various administrative positions in different capacities. He has experience of Project Coordinator, program coordinator. Mr Abhishek has published one book in the field of “Inverse Kinematics of Parallel Manipulator”, Two research papers in international journals, one research paper in international conferences, and four research papers in national conferences. He is associated with professional societies like SAE, and ASQ.

Dr Arjyajyoti Goswami

Dr Arjyajyoti Goswami did his B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering from AKGEC, Ghaziabad (affiliated to UPTU) with 82.49% and secured 4th position in university merit list. He did his M.Tech in Production Engineering from Delhi Technological University in 2012 with CGPA of 9.34. He secured first position in the entire batch and received both The Chancellor’s Gold Medal and The Vice Chancellor’s Gold Medal for his academic achievements.

He did his PhD in Mechanical Engineering at IIT Delhi. During his PhD Arjyajyoti Goswami has been the student co-ordinator of the post-graduate admissions in Department of Mechanical Engineering. He was also part of different teams that organized conferences, seminars and workshops. He is part of an ongoing Indo Japan project, in which IIT Delhi is the Indian organization. As part of the project he visited Tokyo Institute of Technology, Tokyo for one week in the month of March 2017.

He has 5 publications in international peer-reviewed Journals including one paper in Critical Reviews in Solid State and Materials Sciences with an Impact Factor of 6.54. He has 7 International Conference publications, including one held in Tokyo 2016 and has presented his work in 2 national conferences. He is working as an Assistant Professor in Department of Mechanical engineering, NCU since July 2017. His area of interest are Production Engineering specifically welding and casting, Nanofabrication by mechanical methods, simulation of micro/nano systems and their analysis, plasmonic solar cells.

Dr Shiv Manjaree

Dr Shiv Manjaree Gopaliya is working as Assistant Professor in Department of Mechanical Engineering. She joined the University on 14th July, 2008. She is a Mechanical Engineering graduate from Govt. Engineering College, Jagdalpur, one of the premier institutes in the Central India. She obtained her MTech degree in the field of Robotics & Automation from The NorthCap University, Gurugram. Presently, she did her PhD in Robotics Engineering from The NorthCap University. She has been involved in teaching for various UG courses. Her fields of teaching are Measurements and Instrumentation, Engineering Graphics and Drawing, Machine Design, Theory of Machines, Elements of Mechanical Engineering etc.

She has published two international publications; one in journal and one in conference. Before joining NCU, she was lecturer for three years in PDM College of Engineering, Bahadurgarh, one of the premier engineering colleges in the National Capital Region (NCR).

She is associated with the professional societies like the Aeronautical Society of India.

Dr Amit Arora

Dr Amit Arora joined Mechanical Engineering department on 5th Jan, 2015 as an Assistant Professor. After obtaining M.Tech. in Thermal Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology Delhi, he has been associated with IIT Delhi as a full time doctoral research fellow. He is a lifetime member of Indian society of Technical education, New Delhi. He likes teaching subjects like Heat transfer, Elements of Mechanical Engineering, Engineering drawing and Machine drawing.

His areas of interest include Single phase Heat transfer, heat transfer enhancement and optimization of heat exchangers.

Dr. Vikas Sharma

Dr Vikas Sharma is working as Assistant Professor in Department of Mechanical Engineering from July – 2017. He has total 8 years of teaching experience in the field of Mechanical Engineering.

He did his Ph.D (2011-2017) in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Thapar University, Patiala, India. He completed his Masters (CAD/CAM) in 2010 from Thapar University, Patiala and received B.Tech (2007) from Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra. Dr. Sharma has four SCI papers in various reputed international journals in the field of laser beam machining and composite materials. He has published one research paper in Scopus indexed journal and three papers in peer reviewed journals.

His areas of interest include Laser Beam Machining, RSM, Composite materials, FEM, Casting etc.
