Following his premature retirement from the I.A.F. after 24 years of meritorious service, Mr. J. K. Gera was appointed in the Department of Mech. Engg. at The NorthCap University on 28th April 1997. During his tenure with the Indian Air Force, Mr. J. K. Gera served as Deputy Director at Air Headquarters, responsible for maintenance of Russian Aircraft Support Vehicles and Equipment. His other senior appointments included, Officer-in-Charge, responsible for overhaul of aero engines and components at the Base Repair Depot. He has also undertaken research work at I.I.T., New Delhi on reliability and maintainability analysis of aircraft systems and components based on Reliability Centered Maintenance concept. Besides being a member of the Aeronautical Society of India, Society of Automotive engineers. Mr. J. K. Gera is a Fellow of the Institute of Engineers. He teaches Automobile Engineering, I.C. Engines, Power Plant Engineering, Maintenance Engineering, Emerging Automotive Technologies, Machine Drawing and Industrial Engineering. He is responsible for setting up, modernization and maintenance of labs in the department.
Roshan Raman did his B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering from UPTU with 70 % . He did his M.E in Thermal Engineering from IET DAVV Indore in 2015 with CGPA of 9. He joined PhD in Mechanical Engineering at CASRAE (Delhi Technological University) Delhi in 2016 and has completed comprehensive (SRC phase) in June 2017. He has worked as an Asst. Professor in reputed Institute like GL Bajaj Inst. of Tech & Mgmt., NIET & SITM for 5 years.He has qualified 4 Times GATE from 2012-2016. He has 5 publications in international peer-reviewed Journals including one paper in Taylor and Francis (International Journal of Ambient Energy). He is working as an Assistant Professor in Department of Mechanical engineering, NCU since July 2017. His area of interest are Thermal Engineering, IC Engines, HMT, RAC & Renewable Energy.
Mr Praveen Singh is working as an assistant professor in the department of Mechanical Engineering, The NorthCap University. He has obtained his M.Tech from Malaviya National Institute of Technology, Jaipur in Metallurgical & Materials Engineering specialization. He obtained his B.Tech degree in Mechanical Engineering and scored 98.74 percentile in Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE). He was the batch topper during his Master of Technology. His interest lies in the areas of Manufacturing Technology, Material Science & Composite Materials.
Mr Jag Parvesh Dahiya is working as an Assistant Professor in Department of Mechanical Engineering. He obtained his Masters degree in Metallurgical Engineering (Corrosion) from Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee. Prior to joining the The NorthCap University, he served as an Assistant Professor in Silver Oak college of Engineering & Technology, Ahmedabad For a period of 2 years where he was involved in teaching various UG courses of mechanical engineering viz. Refrigeration and Air conditioning, Fluid mechanics, Fluid Power Engineering & Heat Transfer. He has 2 publication in International reputed Journals and 1 paper in UGC approved national Journal. Currently, he is engaged in the research on behavior of weldments under corrosive environment at elevated temperatures.
Dr. Satnam Singh is working as Assistant Professor (Sel. Grade) in Department of Mechanical Engineering of The Northcap University. He joined the University in July – 2016. Before joining the Northcap University, he was pursing regular PhD from Thapar University, Patiala. He has more than six years of experience in teaching and industry. He has worked as Assistant Professor for one year in Ambala College of Engineering and Applied Research (Ambala) and worked as Lecturer in Maharishi Markandeshwar University, Mullana, Ambala for three years. His fields of research includes microwave materials processing, development of composites (MMC’s, PMC’s and CMC’s). Mr. Singh has 14 SCI/SCIE papers in various reputed international journals. He has published three research papers in Scopus indexed journals and three papers in peer reviewed journals. Dr Singh has presented two paper in international conference held at Padova, Italy (HES16), which was sponsored by DST under International Travel Scheme and Romania which was sponsored by DST Haryana. He has applied for one patent in the field of metal-ceramic composite castings through microwaves.
Dr. Abhishek Pratap Singh is a achievement-driven professional with an experience of over 12 years in Teaching (Design Engineering & RPA). Experience of teaching courses, giving assignments, organizing examinations, grading papers, creating teaching materials, and assessing student performance. Expertise in Engineering Simulation in Fluid Structural Dynamics and Mechanical Engineering Design. Extensive experience in Design Engineering in areas such as Engineering Simulations – CFD, ANSYS, SolidWorks Software), Robotics & Mechatronics Engineering. Worked on PLC Programming in Automation in association with Maruti Centre for Excellence and Mitsubishi Electrical India Limited. In-depth knowledge as a Project and Programme Coordinator with knowledge of Faculty Advisor Robotics Society. Supervised the coordination of all the activities of undergraduate projects of B.Tech. Mechanical Programme. Introduced Compulsory Research Paper Writing for U.G Projects. Expertise in Engineering Simulations such as SolidWorks and ANSYS. Strong inclination towards Design Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Design and Simulations with excellence in communication, teaching, academic expertise and computer competencies.
Dr Shiv Manjaree Gopaliya is working as Assistant Professor in Department of Mechanical Engineering. She joined the University on 14th July, 2008. She is a Mechanical Engineering graduate from Govt. Engineering College, Jagdalpur, one of the premier institutes in the Central India. She obtained her MTech degree in the field of Robotics & Automation from The NorthCap University, Gurugram. Presently, she did her PhD in Robotics Engineering from The NorthCap University. She has been involved in teaching for various UG courses. Her fields of teaching are Measurements and Instrumentation, Engineering Graphics and Drawing, Machine Design, Theory of Machines, Elements of Mechanical Engineering etc.
She has published two international publications; one in journal and one in conference. Before joining NCU, she was lecturer for three years in PDM College of Engineering, Bahadurgarh, one of the premier engineering colleges in the National Capital Region (NCR).
She is associated with the professional societies like the Aeronautical Society of India.
Dr Amit Arora is associated with the Mechanical Engineering department since Jan, 2015 as an Assistant Professor. He obained both M.Tech. and PhD from the Mechanical Engineering department of Indian Institute of Technology Delhi. He has more than ten years of combined experience in research and scientific teaching. His research experience pertains to utilizing the principles of fluid mechanics, heat transfer and refrigeration for the thermal management and design optimization of the heat exchange modules. And his teaching experience pertains to the courses like Heat transfer, Fluid Mechanics, Engineering Thermodynamics, Basics of Mechanical Engineering, Engineering drawing and Machine drawing. His current research area revolves around single phase Heat transfer, heat transfer enhancement and optimization of heat exchangers, development of energy-efficient civil structures for extreme weather conditions.
Dr Vikas Sharma is working as Assistant Professor in Department of Mechanical Engineering from July – 2017. He has total 8 years of teaching experience in the field of Mechanical Engineering.
He did his Ph.D (2011-2017) in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Thapar University, Patiala, India. He completed his Masters (CAD/CAM) in 2010 from Thapar University, Patiala and received B.Tech (2007) from Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra. Dr. Sharma has five SCI papers in various reputed international journals in the field of laser beam machining and composite materials. He has published one research paper in Scopus indexed journal and three papers in peer reviewed journals. In year of 2018, he presented his research in form of oral presentation in CMST, University of Cambridge, UK. Currently, he is engaged in research work in field of Additive Manufacturing. His areas of interest also includes Laser Beam Machining, RSM, Composite materials, FEM, Advanced Casting Methods etc.
In context of academics, he is taking various courses at UG and PG level. He has taught the courses like Computer Aided Design, FEM, Industrial Engineering, Composite Materials, Machine Design, Heat Transfer, Modern manufacturing processes, Project Management etc.
Mr Anmol Bhatia is currently an Assistant professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, The NorthCap University. He is pursuing Ph.D. in the field of welding technology from Delhi Technological University, Delhi. His research interests focus on Process optimization for machining of difficult to machine materials. He holds a Masters degree in Manufacturing technology & Automation with a title of batch topper to his credit. He has been into teaching for more than seven years. He has been involved in teaching various courses at UG and PG level. He has taught the courses like Computer Aided Design, Industrial Engineering, Operations Research, Production Engineering, Welding Technology, Mechanical Vibrations, Modern manufacturing processes, Material Science, Basics of Mechanical Engineering etc. He has published numerous research papers nationally & internationally. He has also authored a book on Industrial Engineering & Operations Management which is followed at a national level in several Universities and institutes. He has also qualified Gate Examination with an All India Rank of 315. He is a life member of Indian society of technical Education, Delhi.
