Mr Diptendu Roy

Mr Diptendu Roy joined as new faculty in dept of Civil & EE. He had obtained his B.Tech degree in Civil Engineering from SRM University Chennai and M.Tech degree in Structural Engineering with Specialization in Offshore Structures from UPES, Dehradun. During his course as a student he actively participated in various events, research work, undergone internships in Gammon India, NTECL etc and also has exposure to consultancy work during his tenure in UPES. He has worked on Uttarakhand Govt. funded project “Design of Receiving chamber and SBR”, published a paper on “Study of Cement hydration of PPC-FA based using X-Ray diffraction” and presented his paper in National Level Conferences. He was the topper of his department in both B.Tech and M.Tech earning him a Silver Medal from UPES and various institutional level scholarships. His area of interest include study of cement hydration, numerical modelling of earthquake response and concrete enhancement techniques.

Mr Shubham Bansal

Mr. Shubham Bansal has obtained the degree of Bachelor of Engineering in Civil Engineering from Thapar University, Patiala in 2013 and Master of Engineering in Transportation Engineering from PEC University of Technology Chandigarh in 2015.

He has published a research paper on ‘Stability and Flow characteristics of Dense Bituminous Macadam (Grade 2) mix using waste plastic’. His other research interests are Pavement design & modeling He joined The NorthCap University as Assistant Professor in Feb 2016.

Mr Lokesh Choudhary

Mr. Lokesh Choudhary has been associated with The NorthCap University, Gurugram since 1 July, 2014. He has received his BTech (honours) in Civil Engineering from Institute of Technology and Management (now The NorthCap University), Gurugram, in 2012. He stood first in the University as well as secured university rank 1(Gold Medalist) MD University, Rohtak. He did his M.Tech. in Geotechnical Engineering from IIT Guwahati in 2014. He has an experience of 5+ years in teaching and research. Having keen interest towards academics and research he has published myriad research papers in International/ National journals and conferences. He is a member of various professional bodies like Indian Concrete Institute, American Society of Civil Engineers etc.

Dr Vaishali Sahu

Dr. Vaishali Sahu has been associated with the Department of Civil & Environmental Engineering, NCU since September 7, 2009. She has been involved in teaching various civil engineering courses at Graduate and Postgraduate level. She has obtained her Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from SGSITS, Indore and Master’s from IIT Roorkee. She has done her Ph.D. from The NorthCap University, Gurgaon.

Two of her B.Tech projects titled, “Feasibility of utilizing WTP sludge and processed tea waste in brick manufacturing”, and “Soil Biotechnology to Treat Nazafgarg Drain Water before Disposal into River Yamuna” were nominated for Best B.Tech Project Award of the University (NCU).

She has guided two German students from Kassel University, Germany, for three months internship project in NCU, Ms. Johanna Diederichs on project titled, “Performance Enhancement of Wastewater Treatment Plants – A Case Study of Gurgaon City” (October – December 2011) and Ms. Viktoria Scheff on project titled, “Quality Assessment and Management for the Delhi Stretch of River Yamuna” (January – March 2012). This work was later published by LAP LAMBERT Academic Publishing, Germany as a book. Dr. Vaishali Sahu has attended a number of national and international conferences and presented papers in them besides she has nearly twenty research papers in reputed journals indexed in Web of Science, Scopus and Google Scholar.

She has been working on a Research Project titled, “Experimental and Numerical Analysis of Single Pile Capacity Adjacent to Buried Pipe System” funded by Department of Science and Technology (DST, India) for Rs. 25.41 Lakhs.

She has been awarded with the Best Teacher Award by The NorthCap University for her outstanding contribution and achievement in teaching, research and administration during the academic tear 2014-2015.

She has been reviewer to reputed journals like, “International Journal of Engineering and Technology Innovation, Taiwan (Scopus indexed), Asian Journal of Water, Environment and Pollution, India (Scopus indexed), Journal of Civil Engineering and Architecture, USA and had reviewed many technical papers of Civil Engineering discipline. Her area of research are Water and Waste Water Management, Air Pollution, Environmental Geotechnology, Concrete Tehcnology.


Dr. Archanaa Dongre

Dr. Archanaa Dongre joined The NorthCap University as Associate Professor and Head of the Department from July 2018. She has obtained her Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from MHSSCE, Mumbai University and Integrated Master and PhD from IIIT Hyderabad. She is having around 50 publications in National, International journals and Conferences.

She is in process of guiding PhD scholars in coming days. Previously she worked as Professor and HOD for Department of Civil Engineering, at Vidya Jyothi Institute of Technology, Hyderabad (Autonomous) for 4 years. She was responsible for establishment of all the labs in department. Developed labs worth 70 – 80 lakhs for B.Tech and courses. She has been involved in teaching various Civil engineering courses at Graduate and Postgraduate level.

Developed a course module -video lecture for Strength of Material subject under IUCEE INPODS (Indo US Collaboration in engineering Education). She was felicited by VJIT on Teachers day and on Women’s day (2016 and 2018 respectively) for her contribution towards Institute and overall development of Department.

She has received two Best Paper Awards along with her students at International Conference In Malaysia and Indonesia respectively. She presented her research work at “16th World conference in Earthquake Engineering”, at Santiago, Chile, South America in June2017.he Inspired and supported students for research innovations. She formed research team of students. Around eight students have presented their research work in prestigious International conferences at Singapore, Nepal, Philippines, Indonesia and Malaysia, South Korea, IIT Guwahati. Students got best paper and best presenter awards and International recognition.

She had guided 9 M.Tech projects and 4 B.Tech projects She has given training to students and faculty on Art of living, to develop positive attitude towards life. Conducted meditation sessions in Institute.

Prof H.B. Raghavendra

Honb’le Vice-Chancellor, Dr. H.B. Raghavendra completed his B.E. in Civil Engineering with distinction from University of Mysore, Karnataka, in 1983 and MS in Research, from IIT Madras in 1988. He did his Ph.D. from Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, in 1996. He was a recipient of several scholarships of Government of India during his student days. He was also selected for fellowship by University of Singapore. In 2002, he completed his Masters in Software Systems from BITS Pilani.

Prior to joining The NorthCap University as Vice Chancellor on 4th December 2017, Dr. Raghavendra served as Founding Director, School of Technology, Pandit Deendayal Petroleum University, in Gandhi Nagar, Gujarat. He was also the Interim Director General of Pandit Deendayal Petroleum University. He has more than 30 years of experience in teaching and research. He has presented around 45 technical papers in national and international journals and conferences, and has also presented his technical papers abroad. Dr. Raghavendra is on the panel of referees for ICE journals. He has delivered lectures at short-term training programmes conducted by IISc, Bangalore, and other premier institutions. He has been member of BOS and BOE of various universities. He has also served as member and chairman of Academic Council, Finance Committee and Research Advisory Board of University. He is on the governing council of technical institutions as Vice Chancellor’s nominee.

Dr. Raghavendra is a Fellow of Institution of Engineers and holds several prestigious fellowships and membership of professional organizations like American Society for Civil Engineers, Indian Geotechnical Society, Indian Society for Technical Education, Indian Association for Structural Engineers, Life Member Earth Quake Society of India, Indian Road Congress and member of many other Professional bodies.

He is active in consultancy in the field of geotechnical and structural engineering. He has a special interest in foundations on problematic soils and rehabilitation of structures. He has completed projects sponsored by AICTE and several industries on utilisation of industrial waste as construction material. At IIT Madras, he has worked in consultancy projects of ONGC and Singareni Calories Ltd. Some of Dr. Raghavendra’s recent research includes the impact of industrial waste on engineering behaviour of soils, design and analysis of reinforced soil foundations, and ground improvement and rehabilitation of structures. He has served as coordinator for the World Bank programme on rural sanitation and water supply projects. He has been instrumental in establishing Centres of Excellence on Energy and Automotive at Pandit Deendayal Petroleum University. He had been Director on the Board IACE.
