Convocation a significant milestone in academic growth

The NorthCap University, Gurugram has conducted its 8th Convocation on Thursday, 30th January 2020, for its Under Graduate, Post Graduate students & Ph.D. scholars, for the Batch of 2019 at NCU campus. NCU’s Convocation for the batch of 2019 was the recognition of the hard work and immense dedication of its students and a testimony of the commitment of its faculty.

The Chief Guest for the Convocation was Hon’ble General (Dr.) Vijay Kumar Singh (Retd.), Minister of State for Road Transport & Highways, Govt. of India. The ceremony began with a majestic and grand academic procession followed by the Saraswati Vandana and Vande Mataram sung by the university choir. The convocation ceremony was declared open by the Chancellor Shri V Daulet Singh.

The Chief Guest awarded degrees, certificates, and medals to students in presence of Chancellor Shri V Daulet Singh, Members of the Governing Body Shri Avdhesh Mishra and Shri Shiv Saran Mehra, Pro-Chancellor Prof. Prem Vrat and Vice-Chancellor Dr. H.B. Raghvendra. Also, in attendance were other dignitaries from the academic world and industries. A total of 806 students were awarded the degree during the ceremony.

The Vice-Chancellor in his annual report touched upon our sustained focus on quality and the efforts we made during the year 2019. The University’s focus is on building and strengthening association with Industries and the Government for community development programmes and for providing opportunities to students in India and abroad. The NorthCap University has expanded and further strengthened foreign partnership opportunities to prepare our students to be globally competitive. For this, the University has collaborated with world-renowned Universities. He also touched upon all the other salient developments including innovation and incubation achievements, publications, collaborations & collaborative research, awards, distinguished visitors, student activities, placement, etc.

Hon’ble General (Dr.) Vijay Kumar Singh (Retd.) congratulated and motivated the graduates to take the responsibility to spread the learning that they are taking away with them from the university. He asked the students to contribute to society through their individual abilities and initiatives and bring changes that can transform lives.
The presence of the distinguished alumni of NCU made the day even more special. NCU’s vibrant alumni network has made its mark in India and overseas by attaining leadership positions in corporations, creating successful ventures and cofounding several successful companies. The Convocation ended with a Vote of Thanks by the Hon’ble Chancellor followed by the National Anthem.
