The NorthCap University, Gurugram, celebrated the nation’s 72nd Independence Day on 15 Aug 2018, with a lot of enthusiasm and gaiety. The high spirits and patriotic fervour of the faculty, staff, students and children, who attended the function, was visibly evident.

The Vice-Chancellor, Prof.  HB Raghavendra unfurled the National Flag and took the salute as the smartly turned out contingent of security staff led by the Security Officer, Mr Sanjeev Kumar, marched past the dais. Speaking on the occasion Prof.  Raghavendra greeted all faculty members, students and staff members including their families. While conveying his good wishes, he reminded everyone of the supreme sacrifices made by several leaders political and non-political in securing independence for our country. Prof. Raghavendra said, “On this auspicious day I also take this opportunity to make our students, faculty and staff of NCU aware of our next vision as a University. As you already know that we are ranked amongst the 200 universities in the recent survey of NIRF (National Institutional Ranking Framework) of MHRD, Govt. of India. While I appreciate the hard work of all my faculty, staff and students behind this, next year we must strive to be within 100. We have to educate our students with the latest technologies by integrating our curriculum with industry practices. I also expect all our teachers to become facilitators in the overall development of each student”.

A cultural programme by the students highlighted sacrifice and patriotism for the country. The celebrations were followed by high tea for all.
