Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE)
SAE Internationally, initially established as the Society of Automotive Engineers, is a U.S.-based, globally active professional association and standards organization for engineering professionals in various industries. Principal emphasis is placed on transport industries such as automotive, aerospace, and commercial vehicles. SAE International coordinates the development of technical standards. The organization says these are based on best practices as identified and described by SAE committees and task forces. Task forces are composed of engineering professionals from relevant fields. SAE International has more than 138,000 members globally. Membership is granted to individuals, not through companies. Aside from its standardization efforts, SAE International also devotes resources to projects and programs in STEM education, professional certification, and collegiate design competitions.

Who We Are
We design, fabricate, and compete with small formula-style racecars, All Terrain Vehicles, Go Karts against other colleges from around the India. The SAE, FKDC and ISNEE design certain set of rules to test our engineering skills and creativity. During the competition the vehicles are judged in four different categories: static inspection, engineering design, solo performance trials, and high-performance track endurance. We compete in various events at Buddha International Circuit Greater Noida, Domestic Circuit Coimbatore and many more.
ALL TERRAIN VEHICLE
QUAD TORC and FKDC are off road design challenge for engineering and diploma undertaking students. “EFFI-CYCLE” derived from Efficient-Cycle promote the objective of providing opportunity to the students to conceive, design and fabricate a three-wheel configuration vehicle powered by human-electric hybrid power and capable of seating two passengers catering to the day to day mobility needs.
SUPRA SAEINDIA is a great event which gives a real platform to students to test their engineering skills and refine them by learning from their little mistakes.
Go Kart Design Challenge is a contest formulated to enhance the approach of students practicing Engineering and Diploma courses. This event is fundamentally all about designing and fabricating a Go Kart at very low expenditure.
HVC (Hybrid Vehicle Championship)
Students of Department of Mechanical Engineering (Team Alacrity) recently registered in Formula Imperial- HVC (Hybrid Vehicle Championship) under the organization ISIE (Imperial Society for Innovative Engineers).
The organization recently organized a pre-virtual round from 26th-29th July which included a Skill Development Programme(SDP) as well as a rulebook test. The SDP included a brief introduction to both design and manufacturing of the hybrid vehicle.
Total number of teams that participated in the event was 50.The SDP included teachings related to the following topics: –
- Vehicle build
- Final event management
- Electrical and electronics
- Hybrid powertrain
- Safety considerations
A rulebook test was also conducted on the last day of the event. A total number of 7 team members were asked to undertake the test designed to test the rulebook understanding of the team members.
Team Alacrity ranked 1st in North Zone, in the pre virtual round and 8th rank PAN India.
The 4-day event was a great success and helped to bring out the true potential of our students.
Students of Department of Mechanical Engineering (Team Alacrity) recently participated in ESVC (Electric Solar Vehicle Championship) under the organization ISIE (Imperial Society for Innovative Engineers), from 27th March to 04th April.
The pre-virtual round which includes a brief introduction to both design and manufacturing of the electric solar vehicle proved the excellence of the team members, as team stood 1st in theoritical test conducted at the end of pre-virtual round. The final event took place in SHRI VISHNU WOMEN COLLEGE, BHIMAVARAM, ANDHRA PRADESH.
It included a series of tests to be performed under the guidance of trained officials. Total number of teams participated in the final event was 70 out of which 25 cleared their Technical Inspection ; Team Alacrity was one of them.
The event also involved submission of design and cost report to the officials to know the knowledge as well as efforts of the team. A total of 24 students from 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th year also bagged the 1st position in ENDURANCE TEST and awarded by momentum and price money of INR 20000.
E-GKDC CHALLENGE 2018-19
Team Alacrity, group of young engineering lads, participated in an electric go kart design challenge (EGKDC). The challenge was organized by ISNEE on a national level and was held from 22nd Feb. to 27th Feb., 2019 at Buddh International Circuit (BIC) Greater Noida. Nearly 200 teams participated in the national challenge and only 60 of them were able to qualify for the final showdown after the in-house technical inspection.
The five-day event comprised of technical inspection (TI) of the vehicle, safety tests like brake tests. Team Alacrity successfully passed all the tests and was one of the few teams that could reach the final round. All the static inspections were monitored at Galgotia’s University, Greater Noida. The dynamic rounds like Skid Pad, Autocross, Acceleration and Endurance were conducted at BIC.
The team was also appreciated for its cost report and also got the highest score for the same among all the teams. Racing the self-designed and self-manufactured kart at the main track of BIC is in itself a great achievement by the team and is appreciated by all the officials.
