Factory Automation Lab setup in NCU in collaboration with Mitsubishi Electric India P. Ltd. Gurugram
As an outreach activity, Prof. Ravindra Ojha (Director, SOET & HOD, ME), Prof. Swaran Ahuja (Dean Academics & HOD, ECE), Dr Anjali Garg (Dy. Dean, PhD Program), Dr Shiv Manjaree Gopaliya (MoU Coordinator) and Ms Shaveta Arora (Member, ECE) had visited the office of Mitsubishi Electric Private Limited, Gurugram on 31 January 2017 to take our MoU further.

The NCU team met Mr Manoj Gupta (Head & Incharge – MEL) with his Japanese team members and Ms Ripanjeet Kaur (MoU Coordinator, MEL). A detailed discussion was done on the future directions of the MoU signed between NCU and MEL. Following areas of collaboration were discussed at large:
Details of workshop conducted by Mitsubishi Electric India P. Ltd. Gurugram
A workshop on Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) was conducted by Mitsubishi Electric India Pvt. Ltd. on 1.2.2017 to 2.2.2017 in their DLF Phase -3 Gurugram Office. The workshop was attended by Dr. Anjali Garg (EECE Dept.), Ms. Shaveta Arora (EECE Dept.) and Mr. Abhishek Pratap Singh (Mech. Dept.). The workshop was conducted by Parv Abbott, Assistant Manager, Mitsubishi from 9:30 am to 5:00pm on both days. The training was based on the trainer hardware kits provided by Mitsubishi to NCU which was the part of MOU between NCU and Mitsubishi to impart the hands-on practice on the kits provided. During this workshop, out of many modules (based on various hardware’s on the kits provided), training was imparted on basics of PLC, PLC programming, hardware interface with the software and controlling of output based on the programs designed. The workshop was good and informative from experiments point of view.

The NorthCap University signed an MoU with Delta Power Solutions India Pvt. Ltd., with a desire to develop and execute education and research projects to promote development of Syllabi or activities that supports the research and development through work-integrated learning program – Cooperative Education.
The MoU sign off took place on 3rd Jan’17 at the Pro-VC office in the presence of Brig. SK Sharma (Retd.), Pro-VC NCU, Prof. Ravindra Ojha, Dir-SOET NCU, Ms. Rituparna Ghosh Vats, Dy. GM HR, Delta Electronics India Pvt. Ltd., Mr. Vimal Pandey, Asst. Manager, Delta Electronics India Pvt. Ltd.
Delta Electronics Group is a multi-billion dollar global company and the world’s leading producer of power supplies for the top names in industrial, medical and consumer electronics devices. Delta shall support research fund, education promoting budget or allow use of material equipment and buildings in carrying the research and development.
The Delta HR team was here on 21st Nov’16 and had addressed, along with Dir-SOET, the ECE/ ME students and shared their University engagement initiative through ‘Delta Cup’ event of 2017. The ‘Delta Cup’ event which is proposed to be held at NCU Seminar Hall in the beginning of Feb’17, aims at providing a week-long classroom training sessions by industry experts to a select group of students (15 from NCU and about 60 from IIT/ NIT/ Amity/LPU from the Northern region). This would be followed by concept to creation of a project. The project shall be completely sponsored by Delta. The product from the project will go through a series of competitions to get recognized in India and abroad. This would be an excellent exposure for our students.
MoU with Beijing Wavespectrum Science and Technology Co, China
Mechanics Lab Setup at NCU in Collaboration with Beijing Wavespecturm Science and Technology Co. Ltd. China
Department of Mechanical Engineering has signed a MoU with Beijing Wavespectrum Science and Technology Co, China, for setting up a Mechanics Laboratory at NCU under Dr. Rohit Singh Lather on 21th September, 2016. Under the MoU, Beijing Wavespectrum will setup an interdisciplinary mechanics laboratory (mechanical, civil and electronics) with investment of over USD 60,000 (INR 40,00,000). The lab will have 16 research instruments relating to vibration, design and data acquisition (testing equipment’s, sensors with software’s), along with hardware updates and maintenance. This lab will be a central facility and will help in boosting undergraduate (B.Tech.) and graduate (M.Tech. and Ph.D.) programs. The equipment’s can be used for teaching purpose and also for consultancy. The website of the company is www.sensor.in.
