The Department offers a B. Tech. program in Electronics and Communication Engineering which is one of the most sought after programs and attracts top students from NCR. It is a four year professional undergraduate program offered by the School of Engineering and Technology at NCU. While building a solid foundation of the fundamentals, the B.Tech.(ECE) program exposes students to emerging trends in the industry and are molded to be quality professionals of the future.

Electronic and communication engineering is concerned with applying knowledge in electronics to facilitate communication and solve engineering problems. The curriculum is organized such that it enables students to get a strong foundation on various aspects of electronics and communication engineering such as digital systems design, electronic circuits, electromagnetic theory, analog communication, digital communication, control engineering, digital signal processing, microprocessors and microcontrollers, VLSI design,  and microwave engineering. While building a solid foundation of the fundamentals, the students are also exposed to emerging trends in the industry and are molded to be quality professionals of the future. The students are also provided an opportunity to choose specialization electives to focus on their identified areas of interest such as embedded systems, wireless communication, satellite communication, Wireless sensor networks, VLSI fabrication technology, Internet of Things, and optical communication.

Students from the department are regularly recruited by several National and International companies working in core ECE domain and Multinational companies working in the IT domain. Companies like Ericsson, Reliance Company, Orange have picked students from ECE department.

The major goal of the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering is to produce highly knowledgeable, competent and resourceful young engineers who can perform well in a wide variety of job profiles. To achieve this, curriculum provides a strong foundation in both the analytic and technological aspects of E&C Engineering. It also provides ample opportunities to students to work on mini-projects, develop communication skills, explore internship opportunities in industry and world-class universities and take part in national and international design contests.
