KEIL : Keil software allows the simulation of embedded based projects and enhances the programming skills and debugging concepts. Keil software allows the simulation of embedded based projects using both C or assembly language.

MATLAB : (matrix laboratory) is a numerical computing environment and fourth-generation programming language. Developed by Math Works, MATLAB allows matrix manipulations, plotting of functions and data, implementation of algorithms, creation of user interfaces, and interfacing with programs written in other languages, including C, C++, and Fortran.

QUALNET : QualNet Developer is ultra high-fidelity network evaluation software that predicts wireless, wired and mixed-platform network and networking device performance. Designed to take full advantage of the multi-threading capabilities of multi-core 64-bit processors.

NS-2 : NS or Network Simulator (popularly called NS-2) is a discrete event network simulator. It is used in the simulation of various protocols and supports simulation results for wireless and wired networks. It is very popular given its open source model and online documentation.

OPTSIM : This software is used for the design and simulation of optical communication systems at the signal propagation level empowers the users with models and simulation techniques that are specifically designed for PM-QPSK.

Xilinx : This software allows the design, simulation, and synthesis of digital design based projects using both VerilogHDL and VHDL, both. The skills set in Digital Design, Product Verification and Validation, Software Tool (EDA) development, Systems and Applications Development, and IC Design.

Cadence : This software hands-on experience to the students on the state-of-the art EDA tools for VLSI Design. The curriculum will comprise of theory lectures followed by hands-on training on CMOS Analog and Digital designs. The students will have an exposure to the Circuit design & Simulation, Layout design, DRC, Physical Verification, Extraction, with hands-on exposure to the design and simulation tools (CIC flow, Virtuoso, Spectre, etc.) and a real experience of using the standard cell design flow which is required for ASIC design.

PSPICE (ORCAD) : The Simulation Program with Integrated Circuit Emphasis (SPICE) circuit simulation tool was first developed in the early 1970s. It is one of the most important tools in Electrical Engineering and is an example of one of the first tools for Computer Aided Design. PSpice is a version of the original Simulation program with integrated circuit Emphasis program that have been adapted for PC. PSpice is a Product of the OrCAD Corporation.
OPNET : OPNET is extensive and powerful simulation software with wide variety of possibilities. It enables the possibility to simulate entire heterogeneous networks with various protocols. OPNET is a high level event based network simulation tool. Simulation works at packet level. It was originally built for the simulation of fixed networks. Nowadays, the possibilities for wireless network simulations are also very wide like, accurate radio transmission pipeline stage for modeling of the physical layer.

MASM : MASM incorporates conveniences of high-level languages while offering all the traditional advantages of assembly-language programming. It provides the same integrated software development environment enjoyed by programmers of Microsoft high-level languages such as C and Basic. MASM is an x86 assembler for MS-DOS and Microsoft Windows. It supports a wide variety of macro facilities and structured programming idioms, including high-level functions for looping and procedures.

LabVIEW : LabVIEW is product of National Instruments. LabVIEW is a development system for industrial, experimental and educational measurement alongwith automation applications based on graphical programming, in contrast to textual programming. Using LabVIEW, you can create exactly the type of virtual instrument you need, when you need it, at a fraction of the cost of traditional instruments.

MatPower:MATPOWER is a package of MATLAB® M-files for solving power flow and optimal power flow problems. MATPOWER 4.0 is now available for free download from the MATPOWER web site

Power System Computer Aided Design:PSCAD is software used for power system computer aided design.PSCAD is a software package for power system simulations developed by Manitoba HVDC Research Centre. Free trial and student versions are offered on the web site at This is especially attractive for students because they are able to download the software on their personal computer and work on the simulation before or after the laboratory.

MiPower:MiPower is a highly interactive, user-friendly windows based Power System Analysis package. It includes a set of modules for performing a wide range of power system design and analysis study. MiPower features include a top notch Windows GUI with centralized database. It is developed by PRDC and is power System Analysis software package

Power System Analysis Toolbox:The Power System Analysis Toolbox (PSAT) is a Matlab toolbox for electric power system analysis and simulation. The command line version of PSAT is also GNU Octave compatible. All operations can be assessed by means of graphical user interfaces (GUIs) and a Simulink-based library provides an user-friendly tool for network design. PSAT is distributed under the General Public License (GPL) and comes with no warranty conditions.

CST- Computer Simulation Technology : 3D Electromagnetic simulation software: CST offers accurate, efficient computational solutions for electromagnetic design and analysis. It is user-friendly and enables to choose the most appropriate method for the design and optimization of devices operating in a wide range of frequencies.
