Modern Telecom Switching System

 

This lab deals in the comprehensive study of Modern Telecom Switching System. It is equipped with an EPBAX Trainer Kit for the understanding of students about basics of call set up. In addition to this there are software’s like MATLAB to perform various types of switching, round robin approach etc., QUALNET to deal with various basic call setups ,how the efficiency can be effectively calculated and  OPNET to simulate various latest technologies. The students are provided with a comprehensive Lab Manual, which is almost self explanatory. All the experiments are well documented with clear circuit diagrams, theory and procedures involved, so that the students are able to perform the experiments with ease and proper Understanding and with few experiments on Virtual Labs.

  • Familiarization with the EPBAX trainer kit.
  • Study of speech circuit using IC & its interface to the line using EPBAX trainer kit.
  • Study of DTMF & pulse dialing Circuit using IC & its interface to the line using EPBAX trainer kit.       
  • Study of dual tone ring Generator circuit using IC & its Interface to the line using EPBAX trainer kit.
  • Study of switching mechanism Between subscriber:A) incoming call. B) Out going call using EPBAX trainer kit.
  • Study of interfacing circuit Between subscriber line & Switching digital circuitry using EPBAX trainer kit.
  • Study of tone generation using EPBAX trainer kit.
  • To implement the Round Robin approach for selecting inputs using Matlab.
  • To study how to use an attribute to select an output port using Matlab.
  • To Study packet switching using Matlab.
  • To design and simulate a simple ATM network using Qualnet.
  • To configure the abstract cellular network and study the effect of various parameters like throughput, jitter etc using QualNet 5.0.
  • To configure a network showing voice over IP using Qualnet.
  • To study Firewalls and Virtual Private Network using Opnet.
  • To implementation the switched local area networks interconnected by switches and hubs using Opnet.
