Student Achievements

  • In year 2016, CSE department had taken an initiative by collaborating with industry for better employability of our students. Five of our 3rd year B.Tech students started working on real-time projects with UTS (Universal Technical System Pvt. Ltd.). These students have successfully completed modules of their products. These students have presented their work on 14th July 2017 at NCU in the presence of Industry experts (UTS), Pro-Vice Chancellor (NCU), DSOET (NCU), HOD(CSE) and other CSE faculty members. All the members have highly appreciated their work and efforts. This was the highly motivating moment for the students. This initiative was taken up by Dr Supriya Raheja.

  • Shringa Vatas, student of B.Tech final year CSE student , chapter chair of ASQ-NCU CHAPTER  2017 was recently appointed as the Student Deputy, NextGen, Quality Management Division, ASQ. This position aims at connecting the next generation i.e. students with quality leaders of today to get quality leaders of tomorrow. Under this position she was invited by ASQ, Ahmedabad along with Ms Stephanie Thompson, Chair, NextGen to attend a series of events at Vadodara, Gandhinagar and Rajkot from 17th August to 20th August 2017. At Vadodara the event was organised at Navrachna University and was themed on ‘Empowering Employees’ and she addressed a crowd of 200 students across graduation and post-graduation on how they can boost their career in association with ASQ.

    At Gandhinagar the event was organized at Pandit Deendayal Petroleum University and was themed at ‘Increasing Employability in students’. She participated in the panel discussion along with various industrial leaders and guided students on how to prepare themselves for the industry. Also she interacted with various people of industry on how to increase industry-academic relationship. At Rajkot she attended and participated in ‘International Seminar on Industry-Institute Partnership for Improving Employability of Students’ where she presented the problems students face while preparing for industry and also discussed solutions on them. Her efforts and views were highly appreciated and she has been invited to attend the International ASQ Conference, Ahmedabad in November also. This was a wonderful and enriching for her.
  • Ms Urvika Goel went to Canada to speak at DebConf (6th Aug - 12 Aug) about her Open Source Contributions with Debian as an Outreachy Intern during Dec 2016 - March 2017.
  • B.Tech. CSE passing out student Mr. Antariksh Anand (13CSU143) is going to Institute of Technology Blanchardstown (ITB), Dublin, Ireland to study in M. Sc. in Computing in Applied Cyber Security under the Partnership Agreement between The NorthCap University (NCU), Gurugram and ITB, Ireland. He is availing 40% fee concession for his studies at ITB under this arrangement.
  • NCU CodeSprint 3conducted a coding competition on 15th August with theme as Independence Day through online mode. This CodeSprint 3 had the most number of submissions as compared to previous CodeSprints.  After a tough fight between top 2 contestants, The winning streak of Rohit Malhotra has been broken by Nav Krishna by being the only contestant to solve first 4 problems completely. Final Top 3 Rankings are:

    1. NavKrishna ( 140.31 Points )
    2. Rohit Malhotra ( 133.87 Points )
    3. Aadish Goel ( 85.31 Points )
    Problem solvers and testers were : Devansh Bhatia and Pulkit Kapoor.

  • Pranav Jain and Urvika Goel attended FOSSASIA in Singapore and even delivered the sessions. Now Pranav has been invited as a mentor from India for Ultrahack, Finland where he was a participant last year.
  • The CSI Student Chapter of Manav Rachna International University organized an Inter-College Technical Fest on 28th February 2017. Three first year CSE students – Aaditya Verma, Abhishek jain and Ravi Rathee participated in various competitions. The team of three secured first position in the ‘Technical Quiz’ and Aaditya Verma bagged the second prize in ‘Programming Logic’.

  • Pooja Khunger from CSE and Kartika Kanodia from ECE have received best project award for “IOT device for home automation”on 17th Feb at GD Goenka University. Pooja Khunger has worked on the software part of the project.
  • Sachin Kushwaha, Akarshan Ganotra and Sandeep Yadav, 3rd year CS students had participated in Hackathon, Shiv Nadar University, Greater Noida and won the first prize. They presented their idea to angel investors and some well known big companies and $15 coupons of digital ocean.

    More than 15 teams from various renowned colleges like DTU had participated. We were given 5 to 6 domains like Health care, Finance, Education E-commerce, etc. and asked to design any innovative working project on any one of the domains. They collectively decided to choose Health care.

  • Pranav Jain and Urvika Gola (3rd Year CSE) were selected to participate in 24hours long hackathon which took place in Taj Palace, New Delhi from 7th Nov - 8th Nov 2016. It was inaugurated by Shri. Narendra Modi (PM of India) and Rt Hon Theresa May (Prime Minister of UK). Only 14 teams across all age groups were selected from more than 100 teams across India. They were the only ones to receive award from Microsoft for their overall performance. They also won best team name award for our solution named "Janhit mein Jaari"

  • Pranav Jain, 3rd year Computer Science student was invited to Rashtrapati Bhavan on Saturday (19th March 2016) for a day long Hackathon for Social Innovation. He was one of the 95 selected participants across all age groups selected throughout the nation. They all were personally mentored by Shri. Pranab Mukherjee [Honourable President of India] and many other industry leaders. His team project was also selected by Chairman of New Delhi Municipal Council for implementation across the capital region. Pranav has also been selected to receive the scholarship by Tata Trusts & Google India for the Udacity Android Developer Nanodegree program.

  • IIIT Delhi in collaboration with The NorthCap University, IGDTUW, JIIT, Thapar University has started a M.Tech Infosec group to bring researchers and techno crafts to a common gathering for exchanging and sharing the recent development in all the fields of research and to make this accessible to those who are currently unfamiliar with the research. Students from our university on 19th March at IIIT Delhi attended and actively participated in the session which provided them with the details of the real world practices and future requirements of industry so that they can gear up and work in right direction.

  • B.Tech Final year IT students, Palash Chhabra & Mansi Kamboj won the BEST PROJECT AWARD FOR A SOCIAL CAUSE in the Students' Project Exhibition on ENGINEERING DESIGN  (SPEED-2016) held in G.D. Goenka University, Gurugram on 19th February, 2016. The competition witnessed over 200 projects over different engineering disciplines where Palash & Mansi's SHIKSHAK: A TUTOR SYSTEM FOR THE BLIND developed under the guidance of Ms. Jyotika Pruthi and Ms. Mehak Khurana won the best project award.
