The Department of CSE & IT holds the following clubs/societies for the holistic development of the students

Computer Society of India (CSI), Student Chapter

Computer Society of India (CSI) is the first and largest body of computer professionals in India. It was started on 6 March 1965 by a few computer professionals and has now grown to be the national body representing computer professionals. Today the CSI takes pride in being the largest and most professionally managed association of and for IT professionals in India. Being closely associated with Students the Society has developed a well-established net-work of "Student Branches" all across the country. CSI has 488 student branches with more than 90,000 Student Volunteers across the nation.

Mission: The mission of the CSI is to facilitate research, knowledge sharing, learning and career enhancement for all categories of IT professionals, while simultaneously inspiring and nurturing new entrants into the industry and helping them to integrate into the IT community.

Objective of CSI Student Chapter: The main objective of CSI is to provide an opportunity for students to tune their organizing and leadership skills through a professional forum that extends adequate special support with wide recognition.

SRIS is a platform to learn, contribute & implement the latest technologies of secure communication in the present scenario of Network Security, Cyber security, Mobile & Cloud computing. It is formed to make SRIS a hub for Research in Information Security, which is recognized at National & International Level. This society is formed with a small group of faculty members and students who are passionate about learning about new technologies of securing information not only in storing data but also in transmission in networks, mobile, cloud and cyber space. This society is for generating innovative ideas for doing research in information security to play leading roles of CSO, Leading Heads, Creative Heads, Technocrats and scientists. It is platform to learn, contribute and implement the latest technologies of secure communication in present scenario. Members of the society are assigned various topics related with information security to deliver talks. It is a platform to discuss & take work on the latest technologies of this field. Events and workshops for members will be conducted so that they can learn from leading experts. To simulate a free exchange of information security different techniques and approach such as competitions, presentations, discussions will be used by its members. It will provide access to information through the SRIS Website as well as online E-Newsletter.


Indian Society for Technical education (ISTE), has been proactively working to enrich its members with much needed skills of team work and healthy competition. We provide them with a variety of opportunities for their social and professional development. We strive to build camaraderie among students and offer them avenue for networking with students at other campuses and professional engineers likewise in a variety of skill enhancement settings.


SPL is a departmental professional society found on October 2011. All students of CSE and IT department are members of this society. Our prime objective in SPL is to inculcate & enhance skills in various languages such as ‘C’, ‘C++’, ‘Java’ etc & promote knowledge sharing, learning and career enhancement for all the people & defining all new set of dimensions.

Google Students Club

Google Students Club is a small yet powerful group of students passionate about Google products and technologies. Members of the club (essentially consisting of 6 to 10 people) are assigned various lead roles like business Lead, technology Leadand Creative Lead.

The journey of Google Students’ Club in The NorthCap University began on August 29, 2013. It marked a new beginning followed by lots of activities taking our first step to ‘Doing Cool Things That Matter. It left its foot prints through various events like Ice-Breaking session, Google's Student App Challenge and session was concluded with a Certificate Distribution Ceremony in which the active core team members and hard-working members of the club were awarded with Google swags and certificates.

In this way, the entire two semesters were covered promoting and making people and students’ aware about the brainchild of almost all the leading technologies of the modern day era. The activities were not only creative and fun for the students but also a complete learning experience too.

The Society of CyberSecurity Education and Research(SOCER)

The Society of CyberSecurity Education and Research(SOCER) in the NORTHCAP University is an innitiative to create a workforce of graduates, undergraduates and PhD scholars, who can work in the areas of Cyber Security, Privacy, Network Security and Web Security by teaching, providing training, pursuing research and sharing their views through this platform.

The SOCER will interact with industry, corporates and Govt organizations to identify the problems to create research projects and also develop methods and solutions. It will conduct seminars & conferences to provide forum for interaction and collaborations.
