A candidate seeking admission to the Ph.D. Programme under School of Engineering and Technology (SOET) of NCU must have obtained:

M.Tech. /M.Phil. /M.A. (English) degree with min. 60% marks in aggregate or equivalent


M.Sc./ M.A (Maths) degree with min. 60% marks in aggregate or equivalent, with NET/GATE/JRF qualified or M.Sc./ M.A (Maths) with min. 67.5% marks in aggregate or equivalent


B.Tech. degree from IITs with min. 67.5% marks in aggregate or equivalent.



  • The candidate desiring to seek admission to Ph. D. Programme at The NorthCap University shall apply for the same on a prescribed Application Form by a due date announced by The NorthCap University.
  • The applications will be scrutinized by the SDRC, School of Engineering and Technology.
  • For candidates who do not have valid score in national tests like GATE , will have to appear in Entrance Test named “NCU Ph. D. Entrance Test” (NPET) and will have the following weight age of various components for admission: NPET marks – 40%,  Qualifying (PG) degree marks – 40%, and Interview – 20%.
  • For candidates who have valid score in the above national tests, will have the following weight age of various components for admission: National level test score – 40%, Qualifying marks (PG) degree- 40%, and Interview – 20%.
  • In case no score is given in any national test, the concerned School/Department will decide the weight ages as applicable.
  • The entrance test “NPET” (“NCU Ph.D. Entrance Test”) will be of duration 2 hours and will be of objective type. Entrance Test “NPET” will be held from 10:00 AM to 12 noon on the date specified by the university.
  • After the NPET written test, interview will be conducted (by respective departments) on the same day at The NorthCap University from 2:00 PM onwards. Rooms for interviews will be announced at the appropriate time.
  • The IPET will be conducted centrally by Controller of Examination (COE) at The NorthCap University Campus. Room for IPET will be announced at the appropriate time.


  • A candidate can download the application form from the website of the The NorthCap University or can obtain it from the University campus upto the last date for submission of forms specified in the Admission Notice.


An application fee of Rs. 1000/- is required to be submitted along with completely filled application form. The application form should also have photocopy of supported relevant documents showing education qualifications and job experience if any.

The fee should be paid in cash at The NorthCap University campus or through DD in favour of “The NorthCap University Gurugram” payable at Gurugram.



Annual fee: Rs. 74, 000/- or semester-wise fee to be paid in equal installments of Rs. 37, 000/-
