‘Centre of Excellence’ to be set up at NCU in collaboration with industry



An MoU was signed between The NorthCap University (NCU) and Daikin Air-Conditioning India Pvt Ltd (DAIPL) on 26 March 2018 to establish a ‘Centre of Excellence’ on HVAC Systems at the University that will impart practical skill training and industrial exposure to the students within the campus. The Centre of Excellence (CoE) is one of its kind set up by the Japanese Company – Daikin India in any educational institution in Gurugram.




The MoU was signed by Mr A P S Gandhi, GM, Services, Training & Development and Mr Sachin Arora, Assistant Manager, Training, DAIPL and NCU’s Vice-Chancellor, Prof. H B Raghavendra, in the presence of Col Bikram Mohanty (Retd), Registrar, Prof. Ravindra Ojha, DSOET & Head, ME and Mr Jag Parvesh Dahiya, Assistant Professor, Dept of ME. At CoE the experts from DAIPL will impart training to the faculty and students on advanced technologies in Heating Ventilation and Air-Conditioning (HVAC) System using air-conditioning units supplied by DAIPL.

While sharing the purpose behind this MoU, Prof. H B Raghavendra highlighted the positive outcomes of CoE at NCU and said that the University is keen to boost such kind of collaborations for the benefit of students. The University is also looking forward to expand such agreements in the coming years for promoting excellence in the field of Science and Technology.ment who emerged as winners. During the interaction with Mr A P S Gandhi, other avenues for future engagement such as utilisation of CoE for training of Daikin Dealers, running certified courses, and campus placements for students were also explored.
