NCU students win Skyfi Labs Project Competition 2016
Mr Palash Chhabra and Ms Mansi Kamboj, students of BTech (IT) final year won the first prize in Skyfi Labs Project Competition 2016, a national level competition for search of India's Best Engineering Final Year Project. About 500 projects across the nation from different streams of engineering participated in this competition. The project developed by Palash and Mansi, ‘Shikshak - A Tutor System for the Blind’ is an audio, visual and tactile device capable of facilitating Braille tutoring among the blind. The proposed device aims to incorporate tactile, audio and visual output for the user that can be used for both self and peer-to-peer learning. This device opens up the possibility of an adult who does not have formal Braille training but can assist and help the blind student to learn Braille and also assess their learning levels.
The project had earlier won the Best Project Award for Social Cause at GD Goenka Project Exhibition.
The project guides for the project were Ms Jyotika Pruthi & Ms Mehak Khurana, Dept of CSE&IT.
Congratulations to Palash and Mansi on their notable achievement!
