The NorthCap University conducts Open Workshop on Business Fundamentals

The NorthCap University (NCU), Gurugram organized a one-day open workshop on Business Fundamentals for aspiring students of Management on 9 June 2016. The workshop was conducted by Mr Pushkal Kumar Pandey, an IIT and IIM graduate and a higher education professional and well-known specialist in Quantitative Techniques, Finance Systems & General Management, Ms Shailaja Manocha, an expert in Consumer Behaviour, IMC and Brand Management and Mr Hitesh Manocha, an IIM Graduate with over 32 years of experience in Sales and Marketing.  Mr Pandey is a Visiting faculty in the areas of finance and quantitative methods at various Management institutions, including IMD, NBA, FOSTIIMA, Princeton Review, Wigan and Leigh. 

The workshop, attended by about 50 students and faculty members, provided the students a platform to identify the gaps in their knowledge and practical requirement and helped them solve their queries. It also opened avenue for networking and connecting with their peers and experienced faculty members.

The workshop commenced with a welcome speech by Dr Ruchi Nayyar, Head, School of Management during which she apprised the participants of the various facilities offered by the School and the teaching pedagogy adopted.  She also added that the School gives a lot of importance to the quality of Management education and emphasizes on imparting holistic learning based on industry needs.

In the first two sessions, Ms Shailaja Manocha and Mr Hitesh Manocha introduced the various forms of marketing, the importance of branding and customer relationship and the need to implement an effective marketing strategy in rapidly changing business environment. The sessions were highly interactive and informative during which the participants gained from the insights of the speakers. In the subsequent session, Mr Pushkal Kumar Pandey enabled the participants to understand the nuances of finance in a practical and fun format using everyday tools such as newspapers, magazines and real life examples.
