Society of Cyber Security Education and Research (SOCER) at NCU

The NorthCap University launched the Society of Cyber Security Education and Research (SOCER) which works in the domain of cyber security, cryptography, ethical hacking and related areas. In today’s environment of increasing cyber-crimes, the field of cyber security has very few competent and skilled professionals. SOCER will be able to contribute effectively to bridge this gap. The Society serves as an appropriate platform to exchange information and ideas by organizing talks of eminent speakers on the latest research topics, conducting workshops, promoting research projects on cyber security and hacking, providing trainings and more. It will create a proficient workforce of IT professionals in the areas of cyber security, privacy, network security & web security. It will also enhance the research capabilities and contribute in these areas by facilitating interactions and collaborations. The Society offers courses in network security & cryptography, intrusion detection systems, cyber security, reverse engineering & malware analysis, secure coding & vulnerability, ethical hacking and SQL injection & web hacking.

The Society functions under expert guidance of Dr Meena Kumari, Professor, Dept of CSE&IT. Dr Meena Kumari has worked as Scientist ‘G’ at DRDO (Defence Research & Development Organization) and has 37 years of research experience in cryptology. It may be noted that NCU is the first university in NCR to introduce MTech in Computer Science & Engineering with specialization in Cyber Security.
