On 26 January 2017, The NorthCap University, Gurugram, celebrated the 68th Republic Day of India with enthusiasm and gaiety. The spirit and patriotic fervour of the faculty, staff, their family members and students who attended the function was abundantly evident.
After unfurling the National Flag, the Pro Vice-Chancellor, Brigadier S K Sharma (Retd) took the salute as the smartly turned out Security Staff led by the security officer marched past the dais. Speaking on the occasion, the Vice-Chancellor greeted all faculty members, staff and their family and students on the joyous occasion. While conveying his good wishes, he expressed his confidence in leading the University to new heights of glory where its name would figure amongst the top institutions in the country. He explained the importance of the day, its historical background and the making of the Constitution, which has stood the test of time, very admirably in these turbulent seven decades.
He stressed the need for the faculty to rededicate themselves and put in utmost efforts in ensuring highest quality of teaching and co-curricular activities and encouraged students to achieve all round progress. He also reminded the faculty present to substantially increase their efforts towards research activity so that the University achieves a unique distinction. A variety entertainment programme was presented by students of the University which was followed by high tea.
