Dr Anil Kumar Misra obtained is MSc (Geology) and PhD degree from the Center of Advanced Study in Geology, University of Lucknow, in 1998 and 2005 respectively. He did Post Graduation Diploma in CAD/ Geographical Information System and Remote sensing techniques from Tricad Design Consultant Pvt. Limited, (Recognized by Department of Space, Govt. Of India) Hyderabad, and Hydrogeology from Annamalai University, Tamil Nadu. He has published 12 papers in International refereed Journals and 5 papers in National Journals. He has successfully completed training programmes in remote Sensing and GIS, Geophysical Studies, Artificial Recharge to Ground Water and Tectonic Geomorphology from, Anna University, CGWB, Wadia Institute of Himalayan Geology and Remote Sensing Application Centre, U.P.

He started his career as a Geophysicist/Hydrogeologist in NRIC (Natural Resource Information Consultants), Lucknow, (April 1999 to March 2000). He worked as a Research Assistant from April 2000 to August 2004 in Center for Advanced Study in Geology, University of Lucknow, from September 2004 to January 2006 he worked as Project Scientist in NRIC, Lucknow. From February 2006 to April 19, 2007, he worked in Seismology Division, Department of Science and Technology, Govt. of India as Research Associate-I and from April 20, 2007 to July 13, 2008, as Research Associate-III in Earthquake Risk Evaluation Centre (EREC), India Meteorological Department, Ministry of Earth Sciences, Government of India. Since July 14, 2008 he is teaching in Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering. He is pursuing two research projects funded by Department of Science and Technology, Government of India and Ministry of Small and Medium Enterprises, Govt. of India.

Area of Expertise: Watershed Management, Water treatment and remediation techniques, Remote Sensing and GIS, Concrete Technology, Green building and materials.
