Dr Ambika Devi received her M.Sc. degree in Physics from Himachal Pradesh University, Shimla in 2006. She completed her PhD degree in Physics from JUIT, Waknaghat in April 2010. She joined The NorthCap University, Gurugram in July 2009. Presently, she is serving as Assistant Professor (Selection Grade) in the Department of Applied Sciences.

She is an experimentalist by inclination and her research interests include structural, optical, thermal, and electrical properties of chalcogenide glasses. She is also working on polymer nanocomposites and their applications in solar cells.

Dr Ambika Devi has published 26 research papers in international peer reviewed journals. She has actively participated in more than 20 International/National conferences to present her work. She is the reviewer of various journals of high impact factor. Dr Sharma has completed a DST-sponsored research project entitled, “Optical Study of Chalcogenide Glassy Alloys”. She has got sanctioned another project from DST entitled “Study of Polymer Nanocomposites for Solar Cell Applications”. She has guided one PhD student and two more students are pursuing their PhD under her guidance.

Dr Ambika Devi was awarded with “Best Emerging Researcher Award” in the academic year 2012-13 and was included in the list of “Star Performers” for the academic year 2013-14, at NCU Gurugram. She has also received “Best Teacher Award” for the academic year 2014-15 at NCU. She has helped in establishing a “Central Research Facility” at the University and at present she is the Head of this facility.
